Laura Schue, Vice Chair/Secretary
Laura Schue has been an Alaska Conservation Voters Board Member since 2007; she is the current vice chair. Laura’s special interest is bringing families with young children into the Conservation Voters member community with an annual event called Kids for Conservation. Laura’s professional life includes current work directing the Grants Program at Alaska Humanities Forum and past work in the counseling and teaching fields. Her home life includes a husband, two little ones, and one happy dog.
Peg Tileston-
Shortly after arrival to the state in 1972, Peg Tileston began volunteering at the Alaska Center for the Environment. During the ensuing years, she served on the ACE board and as staff, co-founded Trustees for Alaska, Alaska Conservation Foundation, Alaska Women’s Environmental Network, and Alaska Common Ground. Peg was on the board of Chugach Electric Association and the national board of Sierra Club and has served on a number of state and local advisory boards and commissions. She serves on the Alaska Conservation Alliance (2004) and Alaska Conservation Voters (2006) boards. Peg was the co-owner of InformAlaska, a research corporation and currently owns Tileston & Associates. She has produced the weekly calendar of natural resource/conservation events, What’s Up, since 1999 which is distributed statewide to over 2100 email addresses. Peg and Jules have been married for 57 years and have three daughters and two granddaughters.

Kate Troll-
Kate Troll is a long time Alaskan who has over 18 years experience in fisheries and coastal management policy and 4 years engaged in climate and energy policy. Kate’s wide range of experience includes serving as the Executive Director for Alaska Conservation Alliance, Alaska Conservation Voters and United Fishermen of Alaska, as a policy advisor to the Commissioner of Fish and Game, as a coastal management analyst in the Governor’s Office. Through these positions Kate has played a pivotal role in shaping some of Alaska’s stronger resource protection measures from protecting salmon streams to banning salmon farms and establishing a renewable energy fund. She was appointed to the Board of Forestry and the Governor’s Mitigation Advisory Group on Climate Change. Additionally, Kate served as a locally elected official in Ketchikan. She also published a book on promoting the linkages between environmental protection and economic development.
