As we head into the start of another legislative session, it's shaping up to be a distinctly novel year and Alaska Conservation Voters, buoyed by last year's legislative and election victories, enters the 2011 session with new priorities, new staff and of course new challenges. Every year when the state legislature convents, Juneau turns into a summer camp (well, I suppose, more of a winter camp) for policy wonks, power brokers, and assorted hangers-on. Oh, and there are the elected officials. Alaska Conservation Blog
Our new and improved blog, Alaska Conservation Blog, was launched in December. The new platform allows readers to 'follow' or RSS our blog and to comment on the articles. In our new blog, you can find great information on conservation issues important to Alaskans, exciting news about programs our member groups are working on, information about our staff, programs and conservation events, and plenty of tips to help you be a 'greener' Alaskan! Alaska Conservation Action Alert System
As we head into the new legislative session, Alaska Conservation Voters and our sister organization, Alaska Conservation Alliance, are launching a new tool that will help us work even more effectively to pass strong conservation policy! In addition to receiving the weekly 'Conservation Watch', the Conservation Voter e-magazine, and other email information from us, you can also sign up to receive emails from our 'Alaska Conservation Action Alert System'! When there are legislative issues that need your urgent voice, we will send you and email with information about the issue and instructions on actions that need to be taken. Click here to sign up!
