Anchorage, AK – Governor Sarah Palin held a press conference today, officially placing Alaska as a nationwide leader in Renewable Energy goals.  Palin has set a goal of supplying 50% of our electricity through renewable resources by the year 2025.  This is also the first time the Governor has officially voiced the importance of consolidating the Railbelt utilities, using more fuel efficient engines, increasing energy efficiency and energy conservation and getting rural communities off of unstably priced diesel fuel.  “Together, these goals make a very forward-thinking energy plan, Kate Troll, Executive Director of the Alaska Conservation Alliance. “We commend the Governor for her leadership in putting Alaska on the path of becoming an Energy State for the Future.”
